HB 1558 -- Car and Motorcycle Rental Companies

This bill requires companies renting passenger cars or
motorcycles in this state which use electronic surveillance
technology to track a renter for the purpose of charging
additional fines or surcharges for the renter's use to provide
the customer with a separate rental agreement explaining the
electronic surveillance and the possibility of imposing certain
fines or surcharges for any improper operation of the vehicle.
The company must also post signs in or on the rented vehicle
stating that electronic surveillance may be used for the purpose
of imposing fines or surcharges.
