HB 1789 -- Small Schools Grants

Currently, summer school is included in the average daily
attendance to determine eligibility for a small schools grant.
This bill requires the regular school year's average daily
attendance to be used and increases the total appropriations for
the grants from $15 million to $16 million.

Currently, the grants are distributed to schools with an average
daily attendance of 350 students or less.  Beginning in Fiscal
Year 2011, the bill allows for a proportionally declining amount
for schools with 351 to 400 students.
