Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1850 -- Sexual Orientation Discrimination

Sponsor: Webber

This bill changes the laws regarding complaints filed with the
Missouri Commission on Human Rights and prohibits discrimination
based upon a person's sexual orientation.

Discrimination includes cases where unfair treatment results from
the guilty party's mere presumptions or assumptions regarding the
victim's race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual
orientation, ancestry, disability, age as it relates to
employment, or familial status as it relates to housing whether
or not those presumptions or assumptions are correct.

These provisions do not apply to private clubs, religious
organizations or associations, or other private establishments.
