HB 1984 -- Identifying Information in Court Records Sponsor: Stevenson This bill requires any information contained in a court record filed before January 1, 2011, that could be used to identify or locate the victim of sexual assault, domestic assault, stalking, or any other violation of Chapters 566 or 568, RSMo, to be redacted from the record prior to disclosure to the public. Beginning January 1, 2011, the name, home or temporary address, telephone number, and Social Security number of a victim of any of these crimes but not the named party in civil litigation must be retained on a confidential case filing sheet. The judge presiding over a sexual assault, domestic assault, or stalking case or any other case involving a violation of Chapters 566 or 568 has the discretion to publicly disclose identifying information regarding the defendant which could be used to identify or locate the victim of the crime.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
