Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 2030 -- Candidate Qualifications

Sponsor:  Diehl

This bill specifies that no person will qualify as a candidate
for any elective public office, including an elective public
office of any political subdivision of this state, who has been
convicted of, found guilty of, or pled guilty to:

(1)  A felony in Missouri;

(2)  A crime in any other jurisdiction that would be a felony if
committed in this state;

(3)  A federal felony or misdemeanor; or

(4)  A crime in this state or in any other jurisdiction that
involves misconduct in public office or dishonesty.
