HB 2038 -- Liability for Geologic Sequestration Activities Sponsor: Schoeller This bill limits the liability of any public or private entity in cases of personal injury or death arising from or related to the geologic sequestration of carbon dioxide or other specified gases in Greene County from a single injection site to no more than $2 million with no individual receiving more than $300,000. The limits will not apply to workers' compensation cases, and no award will include punitive or exemplary damages. If the amount awarded to or settled upon by multiple claimants exceeds $2 million, any party may ask the appropriate circuit court to apportion his or her proper share of the total award.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
