Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 2133 -- Licensing Boards for Certain Health Care Professionals

This bill requires certain licensing boards under the Division of
Professional Registration within the Department of Insurance,
Financial Institutions and Professional Registration to include a
member with knowledge and expertise in dealing with impaired
health care professionals by reason of personal illness,
substance abuse, or as a result of any mental condition.  The
member must also be a citizen of the United States and a resident
of Missouri for at least one year who has maintained a stable
physical and mental condition free from any substance abuse for
at least the prior three years before his or her appointment.
These boards include the Missouri State Board of Chiropractic
Examiners, Missouri Dental Board, State Board of Registration for
the Healing Arts, Missouri State Board of Nursing, State Board of
Optometry, and Board of Pharmacy.
