HB 2243 -- Substitution of Anti-Epileptic Drugs

This bill requires pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and
pharmacy interns to provide notification to the prescribing
physician, patient, family member or relative, or any other
person identified by the patient before substituting one
manufacturer of an anti-epileptic drug with another manufacturer
of an anti-epileptic drug.

Prescriptions dispensed for inpatients of a hospital, long-term
care facility, or facility licensed, certified, or funded by the
Department of Mental Health will be exempt from the provisions of
the bill.
