HB 2346 -- Voluntary Prekindergarten

This bill requires the Joint Committee on Education to conduct a
study on voluntary prekindergarten and report its findings to the
General Assembly by December 1, 2010.  The study should cover
access to programs, funding strategies, and research from other
states on the impact of early childhood education initiatives on
school readiness outcomes and other immediate or long-term
benefits.  The Coordinating Board for Early Childhood within the
Children's Services Commission is added to the list of agencies
from which the joint committee may seek staff assistance.
