Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 2349 -- University of Missouri Employees

This bill specifies that any employee of the University of
Missouri who is a member of the Missouri National Guard or a
reserve of the United States Armed Forces and is deployed for an
extended or indefinite period of time will be able to take a
leave of absence until his or her military service is completed.
The bill also specifies that any employee of the university who
is elected to public office must be able to take a leave of
absence until his or her public service is completed.  These
employees will be protected from loss of position, seniority,
tenure, and other adverse personnel benefit consequences; and no
retirement benefit can be administered or eliminated because of
the service.
