HB 2409 -- Employment of Retired Teachers Sponsor: Denison Currently, a retired teacher can work on a part-time or temporary-substitute basis for up to 550 hours in a school district included in the public school retirement systems and earn up to 50% of the annual compensation for that position and still receive his or her retirement benefit. This bill allows a retired teacher to work up to 750 hours and earn up to 75% of the compensation for that position and still receive his or her retirement benefit. The individual will be required to contribute to his or her retirement system for those hours worked over 550 but less than 750.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
