This bill establishes the Joint Committee on Missouri's Future
which will consist of 10 legislative members with five appointed
by the President Pro Tem of the Senate and five by the Speaker of
the House of Representatives. No more than three members of the
House of Representatives nor three members of the Senate may be

constitute a quorum, but the concurrence of a majority will be

of the committee. Members of the committee will not receive

The committee must examine issues impacting Missouri's future and
its citizens; develop long-term strategies and plans for
increasing economic prosperity and opportunities for Missouri

an education system that educates students and prepares them for
global competition, investing in and maintaining a modern
infrastructure and transportation system, and other areas that
are vital to improving the lives of Missourians; develop long-
term plans for the General Assembly to meet the long-term
strategies; implement budget forecasting; and determine the
proper course of future legislative and budgetary actions. By
January 1, 2011, and each year thereafter, the committee must
issue a report to the General Assembly regarding any findings or
recommendations.

The bill also repeals the provisions regarding the establishment
of the Joint Committee on Wetlands and the provisions regarding a
committee of legislative members to review county salaries and
propose revisions to county salary schedules.
