HJR 96 -- Missouri Citizen's Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials Sponsor: Kander Currently, salary recommendations for elected officials, judges, and members of the General Assembly are made by the Missouri Citizens' Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials in a single salary schedule that must be approved or rejected as a whole by the General Assembly. Upon voter approval and beginning no later than December 1, 2012, this proposed constitutional amendment requires the commission to file a schedule of compensation with a separate salary recommendation for elected state officials, a separate salary recommendation for all judges except municipal judges, and a separate salary recommendation for all members of the General Assembly. The General Assembly will be able to veto any salary recommendation by a two-thirds majority vote prior to February 1 of the year following the filing of the schedule.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
