Summary of the Truly Agreed Version of the Bill

HCS HB 1840 -- RICE ADVISORY COUNCIL

This bill changes the membership of the Rice Advisory Council
within the Department of Agriculture to require certain members
to be employed as or by a rice handler in Missouri and as or by
an end user of rice. The bill revises the definition of
"handler" to include a person in the business of buying rice and
excludes a person who is a producer. The definition of "end
user" is also revised to exclude a company or corporation that is
a producer.

The Missouri Rice Certification Fund is created consisting of
fees collected under the Missouri Rice Certification Act. The
fund will be administered by the department and used for the
sampling and testing of rice.
