Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 740 -- Petroleum Liquid Storage Systems

Co-Sponsors:  Pratt, Dougherty, Dusenberg

This bill requires contractors that install, repair, remove, or
close petroleum liquid storage systems to file with the
Department of Agriculture's Division of Weights and Measures.
Documents filed must include proof of commercial, pollution
liability, and professional liability insurance or liquid assets
of at least $1 million and proof of compliance with applicable
labor safety standards.  Those who fail to file are not eligible
to receive payments from the Petroleum Storage Tank Insurance
Fund.  Installing tank linings, tightness testing, and all work
on systems with capacities of 110 gallons or less are exempt.
