HB7I-EMPLOYEE DISQUALIFICATION
Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 7 -- In-Home Services and Home Health Agency Employees

Co-Sponsors: Sutherland, Crowell, Jetton, Wright

This bill deletes the provision that makes it a class A
misdemeanor for a home health agency or in-home services provider
to knowingly employ any person who refuses to register or is
listed on any background checklist relating to the Family Care
Safety Registry and replaces the provision with one that makes it
a class A misdemeanor for these agencies to employ such persons
to provide in-home services or home health services. The bill
also amends provisions relating to the ability of the Department
of Health and Senior Services to promulgate rules to waive hiring
restrictions based on the department's employee disqualification
list.

The bill has an emergency clause.
