Rep. Curt
Dougherty, a Democrat, represents part of Jackson County
(District 53) in the Missouri House of Representatives.� He was elected to
the House in November 2002.
In addition to
his legislative duties, Rep. Dougherty has been an electrical contractor in Independence for 15
years.
Rep. Dougherty is a member of the following organizations:� National Rifle Association, life member;

is a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
A 1975
graduate of Lafayette High School, Rep. Dougherty attended N.S. Hillyard
Technical School studying electronics from 1973-75, and Missouri Western State
College studying electrical engineering and electronics from 1975-79.

Rep. Dougherty lives in Independence
with his wife, Susan.� They have three
children:� Melonie, Christina and Aaron.
