Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1735 -- Joint Venture Financing of Certain Educational
Facilities

Sponsor:  Nolte

This bill allows the board of education of any school district in
Clay County to enter into an agreement with the county or any
municipality wholly or partially located in the school district
to acquire, construct, improve, repair, or finance sites,
buildings, facilities, furnishings, and equipment for the school
district's educational purposes.  Options for districts to obtain
ownership of the facilities, including joint ventures, are
specified.  Districts will be allowed to use moneys from their
general and incidental funds without being subject to deductions
in their school foundation formula payment.
