HB 1827 -- Fire Department Employee Residency Requirements Sponsor: Pratt Currently, with the approval of the board of aldermen, a fire department employee is not required to live within the fire department's geographical boundaries under certain conditions, and any employee who lives outside the city must forfeit 1% of his or her salary to offset any lost revenue for the city. This bill removes the board's approval as a precondition to the fire department employee's right to move outside the district under certain conditions and the salary forfeiture requirement.
