HB 730 -- Emergency Vehicles

This bill revises the definition of "emergency vehicle" to
include any vehicle operated by an authorized member of a fire
department, fire protection district, volunteer fire department,
fire brigade, rescue squad, ambulance district, or emergency
medical services organization while responding to an emergency or
in route to a fire station or ambulance garage to retrieve
equipment. Vehicles operated by private security firms, guards,
watchmen, corporate loss-prevention service providers, and
security patrol are not considered emergency vehicles under the
provisions of the bill and are prohibited from displaying red or
blue emergency lights or sounding a siren or other audible
warning device associated with an emergency vehicle.
