Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1385 -- Abortion Funding

Sponsor:  Cox

Beginning on or before February 1, 2014, and every February 1
thereafter, this bill requires any organization, institution, or
facility performing or assisting in an abortion not necessary to
save the life of the mother or which counsels a woman to have an
abortion not necessary to save her life to file an annual report
with the Director of the Department of Health and Senior Services
accounting for any and all moneys received under Title X of the
federal Public Health Service Act for the immediately preceding
year.  The report must identify each grant under which moneys
were disbursed, a detailed description of the purpose of each
grant, the services provided under each grant, the exact amount
of moneys received and disbursed under each grant, and the
recipients and purpose of each disbursement.  These provisions
cannot be construed to require the identity or privacy of any
public person to be disclosed or revealed.
