HB 677 -- Collective Bargaining
Sponsor: Foley
The bill submits to a vote of the people, upon petition by
20,000 registered voters in a political subdivision or 5% of the
registered voters in a political subdivision, whether emergency
response personnel should be allowed to have collective
bargaining rights.
The bill contains provisions, effective on approval by the
voters, which detail the collective bargaining process.
The bill includes a list of factors to be considered by
arbitrators in the event the public body and the bargaining
representative reach an impasse.
