SB 787 - This act would allow volunteers for the Missouri Veterans' Commission to be deemed unpaid employees, with:

(1) Legal expense fund protection;

(2) Liability protection;

(3) Transportation and other necessary expenses reimbursed, if determined to be necessary by the Commission; and

(4) The ability to use state vehicles, subject to current rules governing use.

These provisions are nearly identical to those for Department of Corrections' volunteers, under subsections 4 and 5 of Section 217.055, RSMo, except that no Workers' Compensation protection is provided under this act.
