HB 1092 -- PHYSICALLY DISABLED LICENSE PLATES AND PLACARDS

For the purpose of obtaining license plates, this bill permits
chiropractors to certify that a person is disabled.


PERFECTED

Under this bill chiropractors will be considered physicians for
the purpose of the physician's statement required to obtain a
"Physically Disabled" license plate or placard.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.


COMMITTEE

SPONSOR:  Rizzo

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Motor Vehicle and Traffic Regulations by a vote of 14 to 0.

Under this bill chiropractors will be considered physicians for
the purpose of the physician's statement required to obtain a
"Physically Disabled" license plate or placard.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that chiropractors should have been
included among those who can sign a physician's statement form.
Many disabled persons are patients of chiropractors.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Rizzo.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
