COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on
Governmental Organization and Review by a vote of 10 to 1.

This bill makes persons found in violation of state bidding or
contract laws guilty of a class A misdemeanor.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that there is no penalty for bid
splitting.  This is needed to force agencies to comply with
state law.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Lograsso.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
