	Representative Mark Parkinson District 016 Republican
Biography: Rep. Mark Parkinson, a Republican, represents part of St. Charles County (District 105) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to the House in a special election in February 2008, and reelected to his first full term in November 2008. Prior to his legislative duties, Rep. Parkinson spent seven years as the Deputy District Office Director for U.S. Senator Christopher “Kit” Bond. One of his responsibilities included conducting Senator Bond's Listening Post program in 17 counties in northeast Missouri. Rep. Parkinson has also worked with the office of former U.S. Senator John Ashcroft. During his tenure in the General Assembly, Rep. Parkinson was the sponsor of HB 2366 in 2008, a bill that became part of the successful immigration reform omnibus bill that session. For his work on this issue, Rep. Parkinson was recognized as one of the freshman legislators of the year. Rep. Parkinson graduated from Francis Howell High School and also attended St. Louis University, where he received a degree in political science in 2000. Rep. Parkinson is a life-long member of the National Rifle Association and is also a member of Ducks Unlimited, Missouri Right to Life, and the National Park Foundation. Rep. Parkinson was born in St. Charles in 1972 and currently resides there with his wife, Brigit. They are the proud “parents” of a 160-lb. Brazilian mastiff named Duchess that they rescued from a shelter.
