HB 1160 -- Volunteers' Liability

Under current law, a volunteer at a nonprofit organization is
not personally liable for damage or injury to the recipient of
the service if the volunteer acted in good faith and the injury
was not caused by intentional conduct or negligence of the
volunteer.  This bill expands a volunteer's immunity by
requiring gross negligence.  The bill also removes an expired
effective date.
