HB 1233 -- Juvenile Disposition

Sponsor: Ostmann

Under current law, when a juvenile offender is convicted or
pleads guilty as an adult, a juvenile court may invoke dual
jurisdiction, impose a juvenile disposition, and suspend
execution of the adult criminal sentence. This bill allows the
juvenile court also to suspend imposition of an adult criminal
sentence. The bill also clarifies that a child certified as an
adult for criminal prosecution cannot be considered certified as
an adult for any other purpose without another certification
hearing.
