HB 1795 -- School District Planning and Zoning

Sponsor: Myers

Under current law, a county commission is authorized to appoint
a temporary planning commission. The temporary commission
creates a planning proposal for the county that must be approved
by the voters before implementation. This bill allows temporary
planning commissions for school districts. The temporary plan
will only affect the school district.

The members of the temporary school district planning commission
will be the highway engineer, one person appointed by the county
commission, and 3 residents of the affected school district. If
the plan is approved by the voters, a 3-member school district
planning commission is elected at the next countywide election.
The county highway engineer will be an ex officio member of this
commission.
