HB 752 -- Employment Security

This bill exempts full-time students from employment security
payroll deductions when the student, if unemployed, would be
ineligible for unemployment benefits because the student does
not meet the criteria for "actively and earnestly seeking work."

In "Golden v. Industrial Commission", 524 S.W.2d 34, the
Missouri Supreme Court held that a college student who limits
his or her availability for work to times that do not conflict
with full-time college attendance is not available for work
within the meaning of Section 288.040 RSMo.
