HB 1033 -- Kansas City Police Retirement

This bill allows the surviving spouse of a civilian employee of
the Kansas City police department who is killed in the line of
duty to continue to receive the health insurance benefits the
employee had been receiving at the time of his or her death.
The surviving spouse will not pay a premium that is higher than
what an active employee pays for the same benefits.  These
provisions apply to the surviving spouses of employees killed in
the line of duty either before, on, or after the effective date
of this bill.
