HB 1260 -- DRINKING WATER FEES

SPONSOR: Lumpe

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Energy and Environment by a vote of 15 to 0.

Current drinking water primacy fees will expire on September 1,

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill is a simple extension
of the fees that allow the state, rather than the federal
government, to regulate drinking water. State authority has
improved technical assistance and saved approximately $13
million by eliminating unnecessary testing.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Lumpe; and Missouri
Department of Natural Resources.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
