1997. This bill extends the fees to September 1, 2002.
FISCAL NOTE: Estimated Net Increase to Safe Drinking Water Fund
of $1,687,500 in FY 97, $2,250,000 in FY 98, and $2,250,000 in
FY 99.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill is a simple extension
of the fees that allow the state, rather than the federal
government, to regulate drinking water. State authority has
improved technical assistance and saved approximately $13
million by eliminating unnecessary testing.
Testifying for the bill were Representative Lumpe; and Missouri
Department of Natural Resources.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
