TRULY AGREED

HB 937 -- OUTDOOR ADVERTISING

This bill exempts fraternal organizations, service
organizations, and veterans' organizations from the one-time
permanent permit fee on outdoor advertising signs of less than
76 square feet.  Current law exempts religious organizations
from this fee.  In addition, religious, fraternal, service, and
veterans' organizations will not be required to pay biennial
inspection fees.

permanent fee on outdoor advertising signs of less than 76
square feet.  Tax-exempt religious and fraternal organizations
will also be exempt from biennial inspection fees.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

Committee Action:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on  Fees and Salaries by a vote of 7 to 0.

This bill exempts fraternal organizations from the one-time
permanent fee on outdoor advertising signs of less than 76
square feet.  Tax-exempt religious and fraternal organizations
will also be exempt from biennial inspection fees.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the savings in sign fees and
inspections fees would help fraternal organizations save funds
that could be put to use helping charities and the less
fortunate citizens of the state.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Marshall; and Grand
Lodge of Missouri A F & A M (Masons).

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
