House Journal - February 5, 1996
House Journal
Second Regular Session, 88th General Assembly
TWENTIETH DAY, Monday, February 5, 1996
Speaker Gaw in the Chair.
Prayer by Father Hugh Behan.
"Love does not come to an end." (I Cor. 13:4)
This is the month we dedicate to the heart. We pray today for our fellow-citizens here and
around the nation who suffer most intensely in body and suffer losses in property, livestock
and crops from this cold.
We pray, God of Love, for our own hearts to be open to the hurts of others, the local personal
issues, as well as the big national and global ones. We pray for all those whom we love and
who love us, that we can do what needs to be done to deepen and strengthen those bonds. We
pray for healing for those relationships which are strained, for forgiveness for those which
have soured. We ask a special blessing on those wonderful people who radiate love and kindness
every day in all circumstances to brighten our lives. Amen.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was recited.
The Speaker appointed the following to act as Honorary Pages for the Day, to
serve without compensation: Stephanie Jones, Capreece Kerr, Elizabeth Roberts
and Jessica Vargas.
The Journal of the nineteenth day was approved as printed.
