HB 1484 -- Gun Free School Zones

This bill creates the crime of carrying a firearm near schools.
A person commits this crime by carrying a firearm in or on, or
within 2,000 feet of, a public or private elementary or
secondary school, public vocational school, or a public or
private junior college, college, or university, or on any school
bus.  Carrying a firearm near schools is a class C felony.  The
bill exempts law enforcement officials, personnel of the armed
forces, persons lawfully transporting a firearm through the
area, or persons on the property.
