HB 1623 -- Certification of Teachers
Sponsor: Lograsso
Currently, the State Board of Education may revoke a teacher's
certificate if the holder has been convicted of a felony or
crime of moral turpitude. This bill substitutes the word
"misdemeanor" for "felony or crime."
The bill also prohibits the state board from issuing a
certificate to any person convicted of or pleading guilty to a
felony and requires the revocation of an existing certificate
under these circumstances.
