HB 1924 -- Disciplinary Procedures for Law Enforcement Officers
Co-Sponsors: May (108), O'Toole
This bill makes the due process procedures afforded to certain
law enforcement officers undergoing dismissal, demotion, or
suspension applicable to the highest ranking officer of any law
enforcement agency. Under current law, an officer serving in a
probationary period or the chief law enforcement officer do not
receive due process protections while suffering punitive
employment actions.
