AN ACT

To repeal section 79.070, RSMo 1994, relating to qualifications of certain city officials, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the same subject.






Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Section 79.070, RSMo 1994, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 79.070, to read as follows:

79.070. No person shall be an alderman unless [he be] the person is at least twenty-one years of age, a citizen of the United States, and an inhabitant and resident of the city for one year next preceding his or her election, and a resident of the ward from which he or she is to be elected at the time he or she files for the election, and a resident of the ward from which he or she is elected during the time he or she serves as alderman.



Missouri House of Representatives
