SENATE COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE
FOR
HOUSE BILL NO. 476
AN ACT
To repeal section 79.070, RSMo 1994, relating to fourth
class cities, and to enact in lieu thereof one new
section relating to the same subject.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section A. Section 79.070, RSMo 1994, is repealed and one
new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section
79.070, to read as follows:
79.070. No person shall be an alderman unless he [be] or
she is at least twenty-one years of age, a citizen of the United
States, and an inhabitant and resident of the city for one year
next preceding his or her election, and a resident, at the time
he or she files and during the time he or she serves, of the ward
from which he or she is elected.
