Born in Springfield, Missouri, Johnny Morris is heralded as one of the most visionary and influential retailers of his time. He is the founder and retired CEO of the multi-billion-dollar hunting and fishing retail chain, Bass Pro Shops. Morris also founded the White River Marine Group, which is the world’s largest builder of fishing and recreational boats. Morris has a passion for connecting people with nature and is one of the nation’s leading conservationists. In 2017, he opened the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, which is one of the most valuable and respected conservation and education centers in the world. In 2019, Morris received the prestigious Audubon Medal in recognition of his lifelong efforts to protect wildlife habitat and connect people with the great outdoors.
