Rep. Jason Chipman represents parts of Crawford and Phelps Counties in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2014.
Prior to his legislative duties, Rep. Chipman served as a Machinist Mate in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy CV-67. Upon being honorably discharged, he worked for a short time in construction then began working at Brewer Science in Rolla, where he remained until being elected.
Rep. Chipman is a 1995 graduate from Steelville High School. He received an associate’s degree from East Central College in 2007, a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Drury University in 2010, and is currently attending Central Methodist University.
Born in St. Charles, Rep. Chipman currently resides in Steelville with his wife and four children.
Establishes the "Curriculum Transparency Act"
Prohibits public institutions of higher education from requiring students to purchase a meal plan when a student presents medical documentation of a food allergy or sensitivity, or a medical dietary issue
Prohibits public institutions of higher education from requiring students to live on campus, except for first-year freshmen who may be required to live in campus housing for their first year
Specifies that convictions and certain pleas in municipal court may be proved to affect the credibility of a witness
Modifies rules regarding proper display of the United States flag.
Establishes guidelines filling vacancies in the General Assembly and for nominations to the United States Congress.
Specifies that public institutions of higher education shall not require their students to pay fees related to health care if they show proof of health insurance coverage
Requires the Children's Division to refer all cases in which a birth mother or infant tests positive for illegal controlled substances after childbirth to the Juvenile Office
Changes the laws regarding county budgets
Modifies the minimum age required to serve in various county, city, town, and board positions.
