Rep. Alfred J. Wessels Jr., a Democrat, represents parts of St Louis City (District 81) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2016.
Prior to his legislative duties, Rep. Wessels Jr., served as 13th Ward Alderman in the City of St Louis from 1985-2014 before a two year stint as St. Louis' director of community development. He also had a 40-year career as a healthcare administrator.
Rep Wessels earned a BS in Business Administration and an MA in Urban Affairs both from St. Louis University.
Born in St. Louis, Mo, Rep Wessels is married to Gloria Bewen Wessels. They have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
Establishes the Narcotics Control Act
Allows the circuit court in St. Louis City to collect a fee not to exceed twenty dollars, rather than fifteen, to go toward the law library
