Rep. Lyle Rowland, a Republican, represents Ozark, Douglas, and parts of Taney County (District 155) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2010.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Rowland is a beef cattle farmer. He also taught agriculture for 10 years at Forsyth High School before accepting the superintendent position at Taneyville in 1986. He retired in 2006 after 31 years in education.
Rep. Rowland has been the recipient of several awards including FFA Blue and Gold Award, Outstanding Rural Administrator (1997), Missouri K-8 School Superintendent of the Year (2005), and Outstanding Emeritus Educator (2010).
Rep. Rowland is a graduate of Forsyth High School. He earned his B.S. and M. Ed. in Ag Education from the University of Missouri in Columbia and his Specialist in Educational Administration from Missouri State University. Rep. Rowland also attended the College of the Ozarks. He is a member of the National Rifle Association, Missouri Farm Bureau and the New Beginnings Church.
Rep. Rowland currently resides in Cedarcreek with his wife, Glenda. They have two daughters, Holly and Laura.
Modifies provisions relating to driver's licenses for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing
Allows a school district to use a calendar based on hours of attendance rather than hours and days of attendance, if the minimum number of hours is at least 1,044 hours of actual pupil attendance
Modifies provisions relating to advanced practice registered nurses in collaborative practice arrangements
Allows school boards to provide certain information on influenza disease to parents and guardians of students
