HB 1229 -- Removal of Elected Officials

This bill establishes a new procedure whereby an elected
official in a county of the third classification may be removed
from office.  The procedure requires a recall petition signed by
voters equaling 25% of the votes cast in the last election for
the given office, followed by a special election.  An elected
official removed by this procedure may not be appointed or
elected to fill the vacant office.
