HB 1275 -- STATE BUILDINGS (Chrismer) Under current law, the Board of Public Buildings may allow the display of the United States flag and the state flag with the POW/MIA flag at the State Capitol. This bill allows the display of the flags at all state buildings. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
HB 1275 -- STATE BUILDINGS SPONSOR: Chrismer COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Governmental Organization and Review by a vote of 11 to 0. Under current law, the Board of Public Buildings may allow the display of the United States flag and the state flag with the POW/MIA flag at the State Capitol. This bill allows the display of the flags at all state buildings. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that veterans want state officials to have the authority to fly the POW/MIA flag outside all state buildings. Testifying for the bill was Representative Chrismer.
