COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Judiciary
by a vote of 14 to 0.

This bill recodifies various sections governing court costs,
fees, charges, and surcharges into one section of the revised
statutes.  This revision was mandated by Senate Bill 869 of the
Second Regular Session of the 88th General Assembly, 1996.

HCA 1 -- Deletes sections from the bill that include provisions
not categorized as "court costs."

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that including provisions relating
to court costs in one chapter will be helpful.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Clayton; and
Missouri Supreme Court.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
