HB 1442 -- Truck Length
Sponsor: Koller
This bill defines a "dromedary" as a truck-tractor designed for
pulling other vehicles and which may carry part of the load when
operating independently, but when attached to a semi-trailer,
supports a part of the weight. A dromedary and semitrailer on
state highways may operate with an overall length of 60 feet.
On interstate highways systems of the state, such vehicles'
overall length will be the length of the dromedary plus a
trailer not to exceed 53 feet.
The overall allowed length of automobile transporters, boat
transporters, and truck-trailers boat transporter combinations
is increased from 65 feet to 75 feet.
