COMMITTEE

HB 1554 -- STATE PURCHASES OF SERVICES

CO-SPONSORS: Riback Wilson (25), Carter, Schilling

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on
Governmental Organization and Review by a vote of 10 to 1.

This bill allows the Commissioner of Administration to waive the
required bidding procedures for the purchase of services for
patients, residents, and clients of the Department of Mental
Health.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill is only a technical
change. Mental Health is already following this bidding
procedure. The procedure allows the Drug and Alcohol Division
to receive better services.

and Department of Mental Health.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.

Steve Bauer, Legislative Analyst
