HB 1751 -- Income Tax: Standard Deduction for Married Taxpayers

Sponsor: Patek

This bill compensates for the marriage penalty as it relates to
the standard deduction for married taxpayers when brought
forward onto the Missouri income tax return from the federal
income tax return. The amount of standard deduction for all
married taxpayers is determined by calculations contained in the
bill.

These changes will apply to tax year 2000 and thereafter.
