HB 1812 -- Same-Sex Marriages

Sponsor: Akin

This bill declares it to be the public policy of Missouri to
recognize marriage only between a man and a woman and prohibits
the issuance of a marriage license to other than a man and a
woman. Same-sex marriage will not be recognized in Missouri
even if valid where contracted. This statute was declared
procedurally unconstitutional in its original passage.
